Watched the news a few hours ago and they showed the part where the French government wanted to ban obvious crucifix, veils, etc from certain places like offices and public schools. I don't think that it's a wise move. Seriously, I think it's okay for people to show that they belong to certain religion...it's not like they're flashing "I'm better than you", right? In where I come from, it's totally normal to wear whatever your religion thinks you should wear. The French government should realize that banning them aren't going to solve problems. If a Muslim woman didn't want to shake hands with males who weren't her relative, then she didn't have to shake hands with that guy. Personally, I believe in freedom to do what an individual believes is right as long as it's not destructive. Let's look at the similarities and ignore the differences. Give peace a chance. |
